Brian David Porter, 29, of Canal Winchester, formerly of Sharon Road, Colerain, Ohio, died October 16, 2012 in Columbus, Ohio. Brian was born October 30, 1982, the son of Clyde W. (Chip) Porter Jr. and Sharon L. (Kennedy) Porter. He was preceded in death by grandparents Charles & Marge (Cutler) Kennedy, and Mary (Anderson) Porter. He was a graduate of West Liberty State College, Martins Ferry High School, and New Covenant Academy Elementary School. In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by a sister Patricia(Dennis) Morgan, nephews Dakota & Collin of Pickerington, Ohio, grandfather Clyde W. Porter of Martins Ferry and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. He was employed by DFAS in Columbus, a former volunteer docent at the Oglebay Zoo, and served as an intern in Washington, D.C. for Meryl Lynch.Brian enjoyed reading, gospel music, and watching karaoke.He was a Christian by faith and attended both the 1st Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry & Harbor of Hope of St. Clairsville. Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio on Friday 4-8 pm. with services conducted by the First Presbyterian Deacons at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday October 20, 2012 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church in Martins Ferry, with pastors David Stammerjohn and Mike Smith, officiating. Interment will follow at Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Oglebay Zoo or the public library of your choice.
