Bryant L. "Jake" Tolewitz, 40, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at his home. He was born September 2, 1973 in Barnesville, Ohio, son of Wilda D. Morris Tolewitz and the late Leonard N. Tolewitz. He had worked many years as a mechanic. A quiet, reserved person, he was a devoted friend who would help anyone at any time. A hard worker and very loving father, he fought with more strength and courage than any one man. Jake was a hero to all. In addition to his mother, Wilda, Jake is survived by his daughters, Shelly L. Tolewitz and Leana R. Tolewitz, both of Bethesda, Ohio; sister, Dawnell V. (Duane) Carpenter of Belmont, Ohio; brother, Michael A. (Annie) Tolewitz of Barnesville, Ohio; companion, Krista Hatcher; best friend, Skinny, who was like a son to Jake; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit, Saturday from 11 am until the time of service beginning at 1 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home & Crematory, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Honoring Jake's wishes, interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.
