Carol Sue Balk, 88, of Martins Ferry, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital.  She was born on December 25, 1937, in Martins Ferry, the daughter of the late Paul Maguire and Anna E. (Malis) Maguire Pappa.

Carol was retired from Rogers Jewelers – OVM Office and the former Islay's in Martins Ferry.  She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Paul and William Maguire and sister, Patricia Hill.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, George (Kelli) Balk, Jr. of Glen Robins, Julie Perry of Arizona, and Lisa (Randall) Reasbeck, grandchildren, Brandi, Randall, Jr., Michael, Cassandra, Kevin and Chantell, great-grandchildren, Ashley, Ella, Claire, Helen, Gracelynne and Brice along with several Nieces and Nephews complete her family.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 9 till time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:30 am at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 72581 Rt. 250, Colerain, Ohio 43916.  Fr. Thomas Chillog will be the celebrant.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.  Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Garden, Pleasant Grove.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 212 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950.
