Carolyn L. Younkins Carolyn L. Schaefer Younkins, 61, of Pattons Run Rd., Martins Ferry, OH died Sun., Jun. 9, 2002 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling. She was born Sept. 10, 1940 in Wheeling a daughter of the late Russell and Louise Richards Schaefer. She was a former ward secretary for East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, past president of the Martins Ferry Eagles Auxiliary, and a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Russell Schaefer. Carolyn is survived by her husband Gerald W. "Jerry" Younkins, a son Jerry A. (Melissa) Younkins of Martins Ferry, a daughter Joyce (Dale) Pittman of Martins Ferry, two brothers Richard Schaefer of Concord, OH and Donald Schaefer of Wheeling, three sisters Barbara Breiding and Norma Jean Knierim both of Bethlehem and Louise Mosca of Wheeling, and four grandchildren Jessica and Katelyn Smith and Kayla and Tanner Younkins. Friends will be received Mon. 7-9 PM and Tue. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Wed., Jun. 12, 2002 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Thomas Magary officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Rosary devotions will be recited Tue. at 3:00 PM followed by Wake services at 7:30 PM, concluding with Martins Ferry Eagles Auxiliary services at 8:00 PM all in the funeral home.
