Catherine E. Carpenter, 85, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Thursday, March 05, 2015 at Barnesville Health Care Center. She was born March 23, 1929 in Bellaire, Ohio, daughter of the late William Nelson and Catherine Cutshaver Nelson. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Catherine enjoyed gardening and farming. She was retired from Barnesville Health Care Center, where she had worked as a nurse's aide. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence G. Carpenter and brother, John Robert Nelson. Catherine is survived by her daughters, Mary Skomrock of Dayton, Ohio, Julie (James) Helmke of Napoleon, Ohio; sons, Larry and John Carpenter, and William (Barbara) Carpenter all of Barnesville, Ohio; grandchildren, Megan, Corrie, John, Logan, Daniel, Samantha, and Vincent; and eight great-grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio where the service will be conducted, Sunday 2 p.m. Minister Tim Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio.
