CATHERINE B. HENNING, 94, of Blaine, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Heartland Lansing Care Center. She was born October 9, 1913 in Barton, the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Hertler Burkle. Catherine retired as postmistress from the Blaine Post Office after 43 years. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church in Blaine; the Bridgeport Chapter of the AARP; the Bridgeport Friendship Council and was a past Worthy Matron of the Bridgeport Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Russell Henning, Sr.; a son Russell Henning, Jr.; four brothers John, William, Carl and Edward Burkle; and a sister Gertrude Jackson. Surviving are a daughter Sandra Butch and her husband Edward of St. Clairsville; one grandson Russell Henning, III of Wellsburg, WV; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday 4 - 8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside. Friends are then invited to attend visitation Tuesday from 10:30 until the time of the funeral services at 11 am at the Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church in Blaine with the Reverend David Demarest and Richard Rothermund officiating. Interment will follow at Belmont Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Clairsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church or to the charity of the donors' choice.
