Catherine M. Petrella 77, of Mingo Junction Ohio formerly of Maryland, passed away Tuesday June 23, 2020 at her home. She was born September 10, 1942 in Washington DC, a daughter of the late Herbert S. Smith and Helen (Appleton) Smith Deeck.

She was a retired owner of her own day care center, and the A.S.H.A. (American Speech and Hearing Association) in Rockville, MD, also she was a Methodist by faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Herbert S. Richard, and Robert Smith.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 59 years Richard F. Petrella, two daughters Loni Richards of Port Orange, FL, and Kathleen (Tracy) Turned of Westminster, MD, 3 grandchildren Ryan (Margaret) Turner, Meghan (Mat) Edwards, and Michael Turner, 3 great- grandchildren Amelia, and Gemma Turner, and Walker Edwards, also several nieces and nephews.

According the Catherine's wishes the will be no visitation and private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Blaschalk-Wilson Funeral Home 115 Union Ave. Mingo Junction, Ohio assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice 10686 St. Rt. 150 Rayland, Ohio 43943. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
