Obituary

Charlene Sue Hamlin, "Momma Sue", 72, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 3, 2024, in the Country Club Manor Nursing Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 14, 1951, in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late John and Lillian (O'Reily) Butcher. Charlene was a member of the Riverview Bible Church, worked at the Sonny Boy Restaurant for over 35 years, and enjoyed watching TV Land, working crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Holly (David) Worwa; a brother, James Glover; a special sister, Vickie Johnson; two grandchildren, Dakota, and David Worwa; many special nieces and nephews; and her favorite niece, Stacy.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kami Overfield; and a sister, Patricia Rhodes.

Friends may call Friday from 12-4 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside.  A funeral service will be held at 4 pm Friday in the funeral home with Reverend James Rhodes officiating.
