Charles R. Baggott, 69, of Colerain Pike, Martins Ferry died Sat., May 15, 2004 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. He was born Nov. 21, 1934 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late William J. and Elnora C. (Groppe) Baggott. He was retired from Wheeling Brake and Block Company, Bridgeport, OH and a member of the First Christian Church, Martins Ferry where he served as a deacon for 30 years and a veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers William J. and C. Thomas Baggott, and two sisters Ida Stone and Sylvia Gibbons. Surviving are his wife of 37 years Ruth (Bozenske) Baggott, three sisters Kerma Schiffman of Martins Ferry, Sara Kattmann of Phoenix, AZ and Lola Standifer of Wheeling WV. and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Weds. 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Friends will then be received Thurs., May 20, 2004 from 10:00 AM till time of services at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church, 710 S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, where Ministers Rod Kasler and Bradley Johnston will officiate. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Martins Ferry Christian School, 710 S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
