Charles E. “Butch” Bell 80, of Martins Ferry passed away Thursday June 18, 2026, at Alter Care of Zanesville, reuniting him with his family. He was born on January 25, 1946, in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Merle and Mable (Gasaway) Bell.

Butch was a dedicated son, kindhearted and a genuine person. His sense of humor and laugh was infectious. His long life has left us with many wonderful memories which will be cherished and shared. 

He was a self-employed handyman, and a Christian.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn (Forrester) Bell, Butch was the last of his siblings Merle, Ronnie, Robert, Gary, and Wilbur Bell.

Left to cherish his memories are his sister-in-law Vangie Bell and several nieces and nephews.

According to Butch’s wishes there will be no public visitation, and private interment will be at Riverview Cemetery Martins Ferry. Wilson Funeral Home Heslop Chapel 415 walnut Street martins Ferry assisting the family.
