Charles F. "Bernie" Dunn, Sr., 56, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Monday, December 8, 2014. He was born October 12, 1958 in Martins Ferry a son of the late William H. and Dora M. (Sandlain) Dunn. Bernie was the owner/operator of Carpenter's Son Construction and associate Elder of Tree of Life Church of Martins Ferry. He volunteered for many years with the Wheeling Soup Kitchen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Dunn and a sister Gloria Irby. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, JoAnn M. (Platt) Dunn, his children; Amy Dunn of Yorkville, OH, Charles F. (Sarah Vargo) Dunn, Jr. of Rayland, OH, and William Dunn and Monika Dunn both of Martins Ferry, his grandchildren: MiaLyn, Trey, Ariana, and Adaya, his brothers; Peter (Willie) McWilliams of Long Island, NY and Larry (Renea) Dunn of Martins Ferry and Arthur (Melissa) Dunn of Bellaire, OH, his sisters; Yvonne (Jimmy) Jenkins of Mingo Junction, OH, Shirley Carrington of Norfolk, VA and Juanita Manlopig of Martins Ferry, OH and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will received at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11:00 am at Tree of Life Church, 801 Virginia St., Martins Ferry with Elder James Agnew officiating.
