Charles W. Briggs, 80, of Colerain, OH, died Wednesday, Jul. 20, 2011 at Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV. He was born April 2, 1931 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Charles W. and Maeda M. (Henschel) Briggs. Charles was retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, former Eagles Aerie #465, and American. Legion Post 38 all of Martins Ferry, Golden Rule #90 A.F. & A.M., Topeka, KS, Scottish Rite Valley of Topeka Orient of Kansas, and Lansing Sportsman's Club. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Jean (Davis) Briggs, two sons Neil H. and Scott C. Briggs, and his sister Lois J. Conway. Surviving are his son Charles "Bill" W. Briggs, II of Colerain, OH, two daughters Lori Ellen Green and Beth Ann Guliano both of Butler, PA, four grandchildren, a great grandchild.
