Obituary

Charles W. "Charlie" Lewis, Jr., 90, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016. He was born December 2, 1925 in Belmont, Ohio, son of the late Charles and Lilly Dunfee Lewis. Charles was a World War II Veteran and retired from CSX, after 40 years of service. He was the township clerk for Richland Township for 28 years, was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Bethesda, Ohio, and the Osiris Temple of Wheeling, West Virginia. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served faithfully as an Elder and Deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester, John, and Wilbur Lewis; sisters, Edna Budd and Mary Fisher. Charles is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Barbara (Reline) Lewis, whom he married October 8, 1954; his children, James (Carol) Hughes of Lenoir, North Carolina, Robert (Elizabeth) Hughes of Dallas, Texas, Charles (Mary) Lewis, Nancy (David) Murphy all of St. Clairsville, Ohio and Martha (Christopher) Nash of Zanesville, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah (Hunter) Murphy Lane, Dana (Brandon) Murphy Tartaglia, Megan Murphy, Katie Lewis, Emily (Robbie) Lewis Stiles, Payton, Graham, and Bo Hughes, Rachel, Claire, and Emily Nash, and Chris Baker; great-grandchildren, Emma and Owen Lane; and sister, Anna Dee Costine of St. Clairsville, Ohio. Family and friends will be welcome to visit, Friday, May 6th from 1 to 1:30 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at First Presbyterian Church, 110 Marietta Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Valley Hospice, 10686 State Route 150, Rayland, Ohio 43943 or First Presbyterian Church, 110 Marietta St., St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950. Family and friends will be welcome to visit, Friday, May 6th from 1 to 1:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 110 Marietta Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Service

A Memorial Service for Charles will follow visitation, beginning at 1:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Marietta Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio. Reverend Homer Harden officiating.
