Charles R. Ebright, 85, (aka) Bubba, Catfish and Shadrack passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 25th, 1940, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, the son of the late, Harry C. Ebright and Anna (Costa) Eden and stepfather, Lonnie Eden.
He was retired from Signode (ITW) Steel Strapping Corp. of Weirton, WV after 35 years of service. He was an Army Veteran, member of the American Legion, McCook Post 529, where he served as Vice Commander and Trustee, the Lions Club of Dillonvale, a social member of the Firemen’s Club, Checz Lodge 121, and AARP. Charles was Presbyterian by faith belonging to the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church where he also served as a Trustee, Deacon, and Usher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Marie Ebright, brother, Harry R. Ebright and nephew, Brad (Bunzie) Kurtz.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Mariann (Kurtz) Ebright, sons, James R. (Paula) Ebright of Rayland and Chris, Sr. (Kelley) of Wintersville, grandchildren, Bailey (fiancé Brad), Skyler, and Chris Jr. Ebright, Mindy, and Tori (Mallory) Brown, great-grandchild, Jordyn Littleton, special niece and nephew, Wendy (Gary) Lovell, and many other family and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, Ohio 43917. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion, McCook Post on Wednesday, June10th at 10:45am followed by the Funeral Service at 11am at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Dee Kovach. Burial to follow at Holly Memorial Garden, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Dillonvale Lion’s Club, 52 Liberty St, Dillonvale, OH 43917 or Dillonvale Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 52 Liberty St., Dillonvale, Oh 43917 or The American Legion Post 529, 213 Liberty St., Dillonvale, OH 43917 or the donors choice.
