Charles L. McCracken, 85, of N. Lincoln Ave., Bridgeport, OH died Sun., Feb. 27, 2005 at Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling, WV. He was born July 6, 1919 in Wind Ridge, PA a son of the late James A. and Myra (Polen) McCracken. He was retired from the Yorkville plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and attended the First Christian Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Bertha (Zeboski) McCracken, a sister Kathryn Califano, and a brother Harold McCracken. Surviving are a beloved friend and companion Shirley Smith, two brothers Jim and Carol McCracken of Waynesburg, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tues., 6-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wed., Mar. 2, 2005 at 10:30 AM with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Jacksonville Cemetery, Wind Ridge, PA.
