Charles Ray Minton, 80, of Elm City, N.C., formerly of Wheeling, WV, died September 23, 2017 at his home. He was born December 26, 1936, in Greene County, PA, a son of the late Hallie and Verna (Mayne) Minton. He was retired from the Wheeling Newspaper, and a Methodist by faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Rose M. Minton in 2004. He is survived by his daughter; Linda (Rick) Batts of Elm City, N.C.; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rozella Amos of PA, Kathleen Gilbert of WV; and sister-in-law Georgeanna Gilham, of OH; Friends will be received Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 10am until time of service at 1pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd.
