Obituary

Charles R. Sears, 89 of Central Ave., Crawford Heights, Martins Ferry, OH died Fri., Feb. 4, 2005 at McGraw Nursing Home, Pleasant Grove, OH. He was born Aug. 21, 1915 in Martins Ferry, OH a son of the late Charles H. and Eve Mae (Milligan) Sears. He was retired from the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company, a member and a trustee of the Macedonia Baptist Church, Wheeling, WV were he sang in the choir. He was also a member of the Beau-Brummell Club, American Legion, and the Ohio Bell Telephone Pioneers all of Wheeling, WV, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy WW II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth (Stewart) Sears, his second wife Vivian Doris (Jackson) Sears and a sister Corrine Edwards. Surviving are two sons Charles E. Sears and his wife Barbara and Robert Sears both of Bridgeport, a step-daughter Karen Roby of Martins Ferry and thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Friends will be received Tues, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Friends will then be received Wed., Feb. 9, 2005 from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 105 12th St., Wheeling, WV where Rev. Stephen Tucker will officiate. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH
