Charles E. VanSickle, 83, of Quaker City, Ohio, died Friday, October 4, 2013 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. He was born January 15, 1930 in Wheeling, West Virginia, son of the late Sherman VanSickle and Cecelia Amos VanSickle.
He was a member of the Eagles. He was an extraordinary pitcher in the sport of horseshoes. Charlie was a very down-to-earth man who enjoyed gardening and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by several brothers and sisters.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Robin Green of Charleston, West Virginia, Becky (Stephen) Montgomery of Quaker City, Ohio, Melinda (Barry) Gallaltin of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and Michelle Edwards of Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Kathleen Safreed of Wheeling, West Virginia.
Family and friends may visit, Monday from 11 am until the time of service beginning at 1 pm, Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Pastor Rodney West will be officiating. Interment will follow at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, Ohio.
