Charles Michael Vargo, 56 of Bridgeport passed away suddenly on January 17, 2025, in Columbus, OH.  He was born on October 14, 1968, the son of the late Charles James Vargo and Ruth Ann (Jones) Vargo.

He was an electrician with I.B.E.W. Local #141 Wheeling for over 28 years. Mike was a 1987 Bridgeport High School graduate where he was a three-time OVAC wrestling champ in 1985 through 1987; a Ohio State Champion in 1986 and 87.  He went on to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown on a full scholarship. He also was an assistant wrestling coach for Martins Ferry. Mike was a member of the Cave Club Wheeling, the Lansing Sportsman Club, the Bridgeport Eagles, and the Bridgeport Legion.  He was also an avid golfer and known as the Bar Room Champ.

Mike's world revolved around his family, especially his grandchildren, who knew him as "Pappy".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charles "Jimmy" Vargo, a sister Lori Vargo and a granddaughter Kori Mann as well as many pets.

Mike is survived by his life partner Stephanie (Szymanski) Locke of 26 years, children Ashley (Tim) Mann of St. Clairsville, Jordan (Morgan) Locke of Barton, and Hayden Locke of Colerain, 9 grandchildren Dani, Aubri, Brody, Lyndi, Austyn, Alayna, Jase, Lincoln, and Liam; beloved dog, Trevor; two sisters Kimberly Burlenski, and Traci (Eugene "Fritz") Millard; nieces Ashley and Amber Millard; nephews Zac (Sam) Vargo and Ricky and Jared Burlenski and Cousin Carl (Melanie) Bittner, his many friends and his Brothers and Sisters from Local #141 Wheeling.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Sunday January 26, 2025, from 2-6 pm. Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont County Animal Shelter 45244 National Road St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950.

A Celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday February 1, 2025, at The Homestead Event Center 52325 Buena Vista Drive Dillonvale , Ohio 43917 at 3 p.m.
