Chester L. Serig, Jr., 91, of Clearwater and Largo, FL, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Mon.., Dec. 13, 2004 at Palm Garden of Pinellas, Largo, FL. He was born Jul 14, 1913 in Martins Ferry, OH a son of the late Chester L. and Winnefred (Llewellyn) Serig, Sr. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, a member of Ohio City Lodge #486 F. & A. M., Martins Ferry; American Legion, V. F. W.,and Elks Lodge all of FL, a veteran of U.S. Army WWII and a Methodist. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret W. "Peg" (Williamson) Serig. Surviving are his wife Dorothy (Kauffman) Serig, a son James F. (Cheryl) Serig of Tarpon Springs, Fl, a stepson Porter Grant Miller of Richmond, IN and a stepdaughter Sue Ann Dykes of Columbus, OH, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sun. 6 - 8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Mon. Dec. 20, 2004 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Thomas N. Thomas officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH. Masonic Ritualistic Services will be held Sunday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
