Obituary

Clyde Groves Postlewait, 97, of Cookeville, TN and formerly of Winter Park, FL and Martins Ferry, OH died Thurs., Nov. 23, 2006 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 25, 1909 in Martins Ferry, OH and was the son of the late Earl Edison and Grace (Groves) Postlewait. He retired in 1972 from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation where he was a career employee serving as Superintendent of Metallurgy and Quality Control. Following retirement he lived in Winter Park, FL where he served on multiple senior citizen committees and boards in the central Florida area. Since 1998 he lived in Cookeville, TN with his daughter and was a member of the Cookeville First Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Lucile (Marling) Postlewait and his second wife Christine (Martin) Postlewait, two brothers Donald Postlewait and Kenneth Postlewait, and a sister Elsie Slater. His family includes his daughter Zelma Merinar, two grandsons and their wives, Richard & Betty Merinar of Cookeville, and David & Cynthia Merinar of Mountain City, TN, three great grandchildren Jessica and Kelsey Merinar both of Cookeville and Cody Merinar of Mountain City. Friends will be received Tues., Nov. 28, 2006 from 6-8 PM and Wed., 10-11 AM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Following visitation graveside services will be held at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH with Rev. Donald Cordery officiating.
