Constance C. "Connie" (Motto) Hood, 78, of Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at her residence. She was born Jan. 2, 1934 in Tiltonsville, OH a daughter of the late James and Anna (Kinkus) Motto. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edwin L. "Ted" Hood, a grandson Brian Isaly and brothers James and Raymond Motto. Connie worked for the former TidBit News Stand of Martins Ferry and was an avid Purple Rider fan for many years. Surviving are her children; Warren Hood, Debbie Hood, Tacey (Jim) Bayliss and Jimmy (Missy) Hood all of Martins Ferry, granddaughters; Briana (Allen) Goddard of Bridgeport, OH and Connie (Robert) Chedester of Fairmont, WV, a grandson Shaun Hancher, great grandsons; Mason and Kolton Goddard, a brother; Sam (Judy) Motto of Rayland, OH, sisters; Cecelia Weir of Wheeling, WV and Marsha (Jim) Lane of Mingo Junction, OH and a sister-in-law Lois Jean Hood Brown of Akron, OH. Family and friends will be received Tuesday 12-3 and 5-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wednesday Aug. 29, 2012 at 11:00 am with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Memorial contributions may be made to the Student Athletic Growth Fund, 5001 Ayers-Limestone Rd., Martins Ferry, OH.
