Dale Franklin Trimmer, 89, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at Barnesville Hospital. Born October 1, 1926 in Sewellsville, Ohio, Dale was the son of the late Floyd and Mildred Trimmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Trimmer, October 26, 2006.
Dale is survived by his son, Douglas K. (Cindy) Trimmer of Smock, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Stacey (Brian) Griffin, Kenneth (Michelle) Trimmer; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Noah, Julia, Hope, and Grace; and sister, Maxine Wyson of Michigan.
A World War II Navy Gunner Veteran, Dale was a retired Hi Lift Operator for R & F Coal and enjoyed antiques, pictures, stamps, and granite ware. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Bethesda V.F.W. Dale had a passion for fishing and playing cards, as it was a way to unwind, relax, and return to the fine simplicity of life.
Family and friends are welcome to visit, Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio, where the service will be conducted, Saturday at 1 p.m. Pastor Ed Eberhart officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio, with Military Honors presented by Belmont County Veterans' Association.
