Darlene M. (Black) Gereb, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH passed away on July 19, 2016 at the age of 81. She was born on August 16, 1934 in Cleveland, OH a daughter of Veronika Risko Dobos Black and Frank Black. She graduated from Thompson High School in 1952. Darlene married the love of her life Andrew Gereb (Andy) of Martins Ferry, OH. Darlene had resided in Bonita Springs, FL since 2003. She leaves behind her two daughters Debra Delgado and Dana Carrera (Marcos) of Bonita Springs, FL, grandchildren, Maggie Gilpin (Jared), Michelle Murphy-Buchanan (James), Elizabeth Polston (Clifton), Eileen McGuinn Eady, Nicholas Delgado (Kristen), and great grandchildren Samuel & Rachel Gilpin, Emily & Sarah Murphy, Andrew & McKenzie Buchanan and Evan & Ethan Bailes. Darlene also leaves behind her sister Cornelia Bellows and sister-in-law Anna Fokianos as well as many other beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Proceeding Darlene in death were her parents, husband, sister Irene, brothers, Joe, Bill and Frank Black; and infant granddaughter Jessica Laura McGuinn. Darlene's life was dedicated to her faith in God and love of home and family. She was a member of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses of Bonita Springs, FL. She enjoyed the family's Hungarian Heritage, fine music, good literature, photography, and all of God's creations. Darlene will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, love of family and faith in God's word: "The righteous will possess the earth, and they will love forever on it." Psalms 37:29 A memorial service for Darlene will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 11531 E. Terry St., Bonita Springs, FL on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 4:00 pm with a reception to follow. Her burial will take place at the Riverview Cemetery in Martins Ferry, OH.
