Darlene H. (Miller) Shope, 81, of St. Clairsville, OH, formerly of Altoona, PA, died Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. She was born December 10, 1938 in Altoona a daughter of the late George W. and Dorothy P. (Shope) Miller.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters; Joan, Jean, Marilyn and Betty.

Surviving are her husband of 60+ years, James R. Shope, her sons: Dr. James (Jo Anne) Shope of St. Clairsville, OH, Dr. Thomas (Debbie) Shope of Oak Ridge, TN, John Shope of San Diego, CA and Dr. Timothy (Bev) Shope of Fulton, MD, her brother, George (Vicki) Miller, her sister, Beverly (Gordon) Slippey, grandchildren: James J. Shope, Chelsey (Byron) Mayers, Kiley Strain, and Christie, Lindsay, Aubrey, Claire, Erin, Alex and Natalie Shope and great grandchildren: Athena Cruz, Rogan Mayers and Bristol Burnett.

Private visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH with Rev. William O. Webster officiating.
