David R. Jenkins, 83, of N. 5th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Tues., May 2, 2006 at home. He was born Mar. 19, 1923 in Martins Ferry a son of the late E. David and Helen (DeVaughn) Jenkins. He was a retired Postal Carrier for the U.S. Post Office, a member of the former V.F.W. Post #3613 of Martins Ferry, and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Geneva (Oancea) Jenkins and a son Robert Edward Jenkins. Surviving are three sons Dr. Edson H. (Cindy) Jenkins, Matthew D. Jenkins, and William L. Jenkins, a daughter Melissa (Albert, Jr.) Barbour, a sister Bonnie (Joseph) Dangelo, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Private graveside services were held at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to D.A.V. Post # 117, Bellaire, OH.
