David R. Smith Sr., 60, of Bridgeport, OH passed away August 29, 2016 at East Ohio Regional Hospital. He was born October 7, 1955 in Martins Ferry, OH, a son of the late Carl "Red" and Vera (Gatchell) Smith. He was retired from the Bridgeport Water Department and was a Methodist by faith. He is survived by his wife, Jackie (Fatula) Smith; his children, Myka (Jerry) Comer of St. Albans, WV and David (Cassie) Smith Jr. of Elm Grove, WV; brothers Hadres Smith of Massillon, OH, and Todd (Tricia) Smith of Wheeling, WV; sister, Bonnie (Jeff) Stephany of Pittsburgh, PA; and eight grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday, September 2, from 11am until time of service at 1pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd. Bridgeport, OH. Reverend James Hoff officiating.
