David C. Thorburn, 70, of Nixon Run Rd., Martins Ferry, OH died Monday, June 13, 1983 at Bell Nursing Home, Kimbolton, OH. He was born May 31, 1913 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Charles D. and Mary (Ruble) Thorburn. He was retired from the Martins Ferry plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. David was an Elder of Grace Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry, a member of Emerson Grange, and Past Deputy of the Ohio State Grange. Surviving are his wife Kathryn (Galloway) Thorburn, six daughters Nancy (Kenneth) Pennington of Mulberry, FL, Juanita (David) Stuckey of Colerain, OH, Sara (Kenneth) Miller of West Point, MS, Davida (Larry) Hamsher of Dalton, OH, , Dorothy (Russell) Suitt, Jr. of Cambridge, OH, and Cille (Jeffrey) Childers of Westerville, OH, two brothers Paul Thorburn of Zanesville, OH and Alexander Thorburn of Hammond, LA, two sisters Edna Ekey of Pleasant Grove, OH and Jean McKim of Cambridge, OH, eleven grandchildren, and a great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 16, 1983 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Leslie Kessler officiating at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Burial follows at Scotch Ridge Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
