David W. Smith, 61, of Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at his home.. He was born Feb. 6, 1950 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Harold Smith, Jr. and Hazel V. (Harris) Smith Gray. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Leonard A. Smith, Thomas J. Smith, and Harold Smith, III. Surviving are his two daughters Crissy Freeland of Mt. Pleasant, OH, and Kelly Whitacre of Dillonvale, OH, two brothers Robert L. (Linda) Smith of Maynard, OH, and Joseph C. (Carol) Smith of Mt. Pleasant, two sisters Lillie (Keith) Monahan of Centerville, OH, and Eva Lindeman of Massillon, OH, and two grandchildren Devan Whitacre, and Sasha Smith. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor Michael Cogley officiating.
