After a courageous 4-year battle with Ovarian Cancer, Dawn Marie Bero (Ryan) was released from her pain, regained her freedom, and died September 28, 2023, at home, with her loved ones at her side. At her request, no services will be held. She was born July 6, 1957, in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Carl E. Ryan and Mavis Carey (Smith). Dawn will be remembered by many family, friends, and acquaintances as, "selfless, loving woman". She was a person who would joyfully give to others in need, put everyone before herself, and expect nothing in return. Dawn's hobbies included being the best motorcycle passenger there was, creative cooking and recipe testing, creating a beautiful home at every season, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a retired insurance professional and spent the entirety of her career working at M.C. Thomas Insurance in Bridgeport, OH.

While Dawn is no longer with us in the physical world, she has transitioned to her new, spiritual life above where her late loved ones greeted her with open arms to welcome her home. She is survived by her loving partner of 7 years Adam Vitale who she lovingly referred to as "Adamo"; her son James Bero (Scott Bachota) of Pittsburgh, PA; and a woman who became a daughter to her Gina Himes (Vitale) (Ricky Himes) of Urbana, OH; and her incredibly loving and supportive siblings, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Private interment will occur at the convenience of the family. The family comes forward with sincere thankfulness to all those involved in Dawn's care. In leu of flowers or other gifts, the family encourages a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, 1101 14th St., NW, Unit 850, Washington, DC, 20005, in Dawn's name.
