Dean P. Thurnes,52, of Butler, PA, formerly of St. Clairsville, OH, passed away March 31, 2017 at home. He was born March 17, 1965 in Wheeling, WV, a son of Richard A. and Dorothy M. Lewandowski Thurnes of St. Clairsville, OH. He was a 1983 graduate of St. Clairsville High School. He was a former assistant football coach at St. Clairsville High School, a United States Army Veteran serving in Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville. Dean was preceded in death by his grandparents; Clarence and Hannah Thurnes, and Leonard and Virginia Lewandowski. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Leslie Gloin of St. Augustine, FL, Troy Thurnes of St. Clairsville, and Kerry (Scott) Formick of Rootstown, OH; niece, Alexandra Gloin; and nephews, Dylan Gloin, Connor Formick, and Garrett Formick. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 5, 2017, from 4pm until time of service at 7:30pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd. Bridgeport, OH 43912. Father Tom Chillog serving as celebrant.
