Debra L. "Debbie" Sykes, 54, of Martins Ferry, OH, formerly of Rayland, OH, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 at Liza's Place Valley Hospice South, Wheeling, WV. She was born Sept. 6, 1957 in Martins Ferry, OH a daughter of Cathryn M. (McDiffitt) Sykes and the late Stuart S. Sykes. Debbie was formerly a nurse's aide. She was a member of the Apostolic Pentacostal Church of Pleasant Grove, OH. In addition to her mother of Martins Ferry she is survived by two aunts: Lula Wozniak of Martins Ferry and Sally Schrader Eddy of Oregon, four cousins: Frank Wozniak, Karen Kidney, Peggy Lou Evans, and David McDiffitt and special and personal friends Paul and Bertha Crane. Friends will be received Monday, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at 11 am with Pastors Dan Nelson and Paul Crane officiating.
