Delbert E. "Goat" Nicholes, 82, of Belmont, Ohio, died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. Born January 4, 1934 in Barnesville, Ohio, he was the son of the late John Nicholes and Virginia McEndree Nicholes.
A loving and devoted husband, father, and poppy, Goat was retired from South Central Power and had a true passion for farming.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Delores Crooks, Sylvia Newhart and brother, Robert Nicholes.
Delbert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna C. Nicholes of Belmont, Ohio; daughters, Peri (Richard) Harding, Toni (Bradley) Hofland all of Montana; sons, Paul "Greg" (Tracy) Nicholes of Bethesda, Ohio, Michael (Sheila) Nicholes of Belmont, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Shirley (Junior) Roe of Old Washington, Ohio, Florence Lent of Athens, Ohio, Patricia (Raymond) Perkins of Cambridge, Ohio; and brothers, Don (Rosalie) Nicholes of St. Clairsville, Ohio and Willis (Yvonna) Nicholes of Quaker City, Ohio.
Family and friends are welcome to visit, Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m., Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio, where the service for Goat will be conducted, Monday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Ohio.
