Dexter "Lonnie" Lucas, 83, of Bethesda, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at his home with his family by his side. He was born August 2, 1933 in St. Clairsville, Ohio to the late Dex and Millie Lucas. He was retired from Consol Coal, where he had worked as a welder, served as a volunteer firefighter for Bethesda Fire Department, and was a member of the Bethesda Sportsman Club. Lonnie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, camping, fishing, boating, and especially having a big fish fry at the end of the season. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Betty Ann and Wink Powell and brother, John Lucas. Lonnie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marlene Lucas of Bethesda, Ohio; his children, Debbie and Kenny Winland of Bellaire, Ohio, Jay and Joanne Lucas, and Terry Lucas all of Bethesda, Ohio; three grandchildren, Brady, Devin, and Skylar, who were his pride and joy; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Jeanette Lucas; and sister-in-law, Nancy Lucas all of Bethesda, Ohio. A Memorial Service will be conducted, Monday at 7 p.m., Bethesda Christian Church, 40601 Bethesda-Belmont Road, Bethesda, Ohio. Minister Tim Snyder officiating. The family will receive family, friends, and guests from 4 to 7 p.m., at the church.
