Dietrich E. Gudzent 84 of Mt. Pleasant died Friday June 25, 2010 in East Ohio Regional Hospital Martins Ferry. A son of the Late Fredrick and Margarete (Buelow) Gudzent he was born June 18, 1926 in Berlin, Germany. He was a retired Physicist and a Astronomer, a Clerk and Treasurer for Mt. Pleasant Village Council; a senior member of the I.E.E.E.; a member of American and Ohio Academies of Science, and the Mt. Pleasant Historical Society. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Gutta Schultz Gudzent and his second wife Lorraine Nolan Chambers Gudzent; and a brother, Friedrich Gudzent. Dietrich is survived by a son, James Chambers Jr. (Joyce) of Hanford, Calif., a daughter, Nancy Conklin (Brion) of Suffolk, Va., two grandsons: Joshua and Brett Chambers; a great-granddaughter: Diedra Chambers. Private services and interment at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions to the Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department or charity of donor's choice.
