Donald Norman Finsley, 85 years old passed away peacefully in the early hours on June16, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on April 12th, 1937, in Short Creek West Virginia. He was the Son of the late Edgar and Mary Hercules Finsley.

He held many jobs over the years but his favorite job of all was working in the coal mine.  The men he worked were not only friends, but he considered them as family. He was the hardest worker and took pride in everything he did. In his spare time, he enjoyed rebuilding cars, trucks, and motorcycles with his son Donnie.

Donald was a father figure for many. He would take anyone under his wing. Most of all Donald loved spending time around the kitchen table drinking coffee, laughing, and telling stories with family and friends.

Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years Shirley Jean Finsley of Bridgeport Ohio, son Donald Robert Finsley and his wife Deborah Finsley, sister Dorothy Hatfield, late brother Bill Finsley, late brother Robert Finsley, grandchildren Daniel Allen Finsley, Denise Jean Finsley, Dana Marie Finsley, 7 great grandchildren, and his 13-year-old dachshund Molly.

Donald has requested to not have a service held. Donald's wishes were all to remember him as the strong, man he was. Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside.
