Donald M. Headley Sr., 82 of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, at Wheeling Hospital.   He was born on January 2, 1940, in Martins Ferry, a son of the late William Headley and Nora Vern (Blaknee) Headley. Donald served his country proudly and was honorably discharged from the United States Army and retired as a Mechanic from the City of Martins Ferry.  He was a 50+ year member of the Martins Ferry Volunteer Fire Department, Liberty Engine Company.  Donald could often be found playing his favorite card game, Euchre, watching NASCAR or at his favorite camping site.  Most recently, he enjoyed wintering in Florida. His love of Corvette cars was widely known as he owned several of them over the years. He put a smile on every face he met and was always the life of the party.

Donald was preceded in death by wife, Judith in 2006 and is survived by sons Don (Tricia) Headley Jr. of Pleasant Grove, OH and Dean (Missy) Headley of Hilliard, OH; sisters Patty Fingerhut of South Daytona, FL and Barbara Harris of Lawton, OK; grandchildren Rebecca (Justin) Gallagher, Don Headley III, Dorthea Headley, Kailey (Matt) Smith, Cameron (fianceé, Cami) Headley, Keaton Headley and great-granddaughter Harper Jude Gallagher.

Friends may call Friday September 2, 2022 from 2-7 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935, with a Fire Department Service at 6 pm.  The funeral service will take place on Saturday September 3, 2022 at 10 am at the funeral home, Pastor Henry Lewis officiating.  Interment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain.
