Donald Matthews, 80 of Rayland, passed away, August 18, 2021, at his residence.

He was born on November 7, 1939, in Martins Ferry, Ohio.  He is the son of the late Harold V. Matthews and Beatrice E. (Coss) Matthews.

Donald was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed by the Township of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his brother Harold Matthews and sisters, Ruth Harris, and Erin DeVaul.  Donald is survived by his siblings, Sharon (George) Freese, Rayland, Lois Cook, IN, Illa Covington, St. Clairsville, Jimmy Matthews, Detroit, MI, Leslie Matthews, Adena, OH and Richard Matthews, New Athens, OH., and special friend Richard Anicough
