Donald M. Neal, 83, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in St. Louis. He was born October 6, 1933 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Donald E. and Eva E. (Buffington) Neal. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Eunice A.(Jones) Neal. Lt. Colonel Neal served in the U.S. Army for 30 years. He then pursued his passion and love of plants and flowers by being an active member and employee of the Shaw Botanical Garden, as well as running his own business. Surviving are his sons; D. Max (Terry) Neal, John E. Neal and Todd (Laura) Neal, his daughter, Vicki Neal (Andy) Parker, his grandchildren; Jennifer, Connor, Donald, Hayley, Zoe, Caroline, and Emma Rose Neal and brothers; Millard L. Neal, Bruce A. Neal and Douglas C. Neal. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where services will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Belmont County Honor Guard will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Masonic Ritualistic Services will be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
