Obituary

DONALD "DON" PARRISH, 78, of Brookside, went to join his beloved wife Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at his home. He was born September 14, 1930 in Bridgeport, the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Ehni) Parrish. Don was a member of the Lansing United Methodist Church. He was the Past Master of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #181 and was a member of the Osiris Shrine of Wheeling; the Legion of Honor; the York Rite; the Hope Commandry; the Knight of York Cross of Honor 32nd Degree and was a Master Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves. He retired as a financial officer at Howard's Diamond Center in Wheeling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Margaret "Peggy" Parrish in 2007 and two brothers Robert and Arthur Parrish. Don is survived by two daughters, Christy Twardoski of Yorkville and Kim Crane and her husband Chuck of Brookside; four grandchildren Cassandra (Nicholas) Moore, Kyle Twardoski, Jennifer Crane and Kara Twardoski; two great grandchildren Jessica and Dominic; as well as a niece Debbie (Sonny) Hill of wheeling. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside,with Masonic services being held at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am with Reverend Lisa Boulton officiating. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Blaine. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children or the Lansing United Methodist Church.
