Donald A. Patterson, 76, of Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, OH. He was born Sept. 21, 1934 in Blaine, OH a son of the late James A. and Hilda (Darby) Patterson. He was retired from the Mingo Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Don was a member of the Polish National Alliance of Martins Ferry and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda S. Patterson, six brothers James, Harold, George, Bill, Ronald and Frank Patterson, and three sisters: Elizabeth Baker, Ruth Ann Malatesta, and Patricia Powell. Surviving are his wife, Stella M. (Coulson) Patterson, a daughter Debbie (Doug) McQueen of North Pole, Alaska, a son Donald A. Patterson, Jr. of Maine, two brothers Gary W. Patterson of Martins Ferry and Gordon L. Patterson of Hagerstown, MD, a sister Barbara Jean Patterson of Bellaire, OH, four grandchildren, and a great grandchild. Friends will be received Tues., April 19, 2011 at Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut and Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH from 11 a.m. until time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 pm with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Burial at the convenience of the family in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
