Donald E. Teare, 89, formerly of Washington St., Martins Ferry, OH died Fri., May 7, 2004 at Kings Mountain Hospital, Kings Mountain, NC. He was born Nov. 5, 1914 in Martins Ferry the son of the late Robert Teare and Elizabeth (McClarin)Teare Muster. Don was a Funeral Director and Embalmer for the Heslop Funeral Home where he worked for over 55 years before retiring in 1989. He is a member and former Elder of the First Presbyterian Church; former president and member of Rotary where he received the Paul Harris Fellow Award (the highest honor bestowed upon a member); a member of American Legion Post #38; Ohio City Lodge #486 F.& A. M.; and Chapter #173 Royal Arch Masons all of Martins Ferry; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, and the Ohio Embalmers Association. He was a veteran of U.S. Army WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Donald Carl Teare, two brothers James and William Teare, and his step-father Philip Muster. Surviving are his wife of 64 years Dolores E. (Coss) Teare, a son Ronald P. (Corlis) Teare of Gastonia, NC, a brother Robert L. (Trudy) Teare of Farmington, NM, and two grandchildren Shelly Teare Thornton and Chris Teare. Friends will be received Tue., 7-9 PM and Wed, May 12, 2004 from 10 AM until time of services at 2:00 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, with military graveside services conducted by the Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion. Masonic Ritualistic Services will be held Tue. at 7:00 PM followed by Deacons of the church at 7:30 PM and Rotary at 7:45 PM all in the funeral home.
