Donald James Wensyel, 68 of Martins Ferry passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Rolling Hills Nursing Care Facility. He was born on March 23, 1954, a son of the late Donald R. and Ruth A. (Richards) Wensyel.

Don was retired from the Street Department of Martins Ferry and Bill's Towing Company in Bridgeport. He was a former Captain of the Vigilant Fire Engine Company of Martins Ferry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Melody Ruff and Diana Reed.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara A. (Orr) Wensyel, children; Laurie (Patrick) Henry of Wheeling, Jason (Erica) Wensyel of Mississippi and Ashley D. Wensyel of St. Clairsville, grandchildren; Catie, P.J., Paul, Parker and Wyatt, great-grandchildren; Cam, Luca and Enzo,  brothers; Scott (Melanie) Wensyel, Sean (Lori) Wensyel, sisters; Jan McConnaghy, Tammy (Tom) Williams, Kim Riser, and Robin Wensyel.

The family will be hosting a "Celebration of Life "in memory of Don on June 11, 2022, at the Vigilant Fire House, from 11 am to 1 pm. All who knew and loved Don are encouraged to come and share memories and celebrate a life well-lived.

In lieu of flowers the family, request that donations be made to the WVU Cancer Institute "Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center," 1 Medical Center Dr., Morgantown WV, 26506 in Don's memory.
