Donald C. Wood, age 81, of St. Clairsville OH, passed away April 17, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Don was born in Payne, OH on December 19, 1943, a son of Forest and Dorothy Wood (Price) of Payne, OH

Don was a man of faith and service. As an Ohio State Patrol Sergeant, Federal Security Officer, and Elder at St. Paul Lutheran Church, he dedicated his life to serving and protecting the community. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Wood (Benschneider). Outside of work, Don loved gardening, farming, bird watching and was a passionate jokester and storyteller.

His family was his life and he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sandra; children, Toni, Rita, Amy; grandson Derrick; brother Alan and his loving nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 4-8 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside and Thursday from 1-3 pm in the Dooley Funeral Home,  State Route 500, -Payne, OH, funeral service will be held Thursday at 3 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, with Pastor Stephen Webster officiating.  Burial will follow in Wiltsie Cemetery, Payne OH.
