Doris L. (Jones) Butler, 88, of Bridgeport, OH, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, February 14, 2020 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. She was born August 15, 1931 in Mt. Pleasant, OH, a daughter of the late Ellis E. Jones and Mary L. (Thomas) Jones Curry.

Doris was a Presbyterian by faith.

In addition to her parents Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Butler, Jr., her brothers: Glen and Herbert Jones, her sister, Phyllis Curry and grandson, Zane McSwords.

Surviving are her children: Robert Butler of Florida, Karen J. Carpenter of Martins Ferry, Beverly A. Cross of Bridgeport and Mary K. (Mike) Sgalla of Martins Ferry, grandchildren: Barry (Rachel), Jason (Alicia), Joshua, Brandy and Jenna; great grandchildren: Morgan, Brianna, Kade, Kalee, Natalia, Owen, Braelyn, Luke and a great great grandchild, Lincoln and her fur baby, Bella.

Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut Street, Martins Ferry, OH, Monday, 6-8 pm and Tuesday, February 18, 2020, from 11:00 am until time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm with Rev. William Webster officiating.

Burial follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
