Doris Jean Misenhelder Watkins

Doris Jean Misenhelder Watkins, 93, of Martins Ferry, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 17, 2026, in the Shadyside Care Center. She was born on March 5, 1933, in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late Bertram and Mary (Mills) Hoge. Doris was a member of the First Christian Church, Martins Ferry, where she was a past Deaconess. She was also an avid bowler and enjoyed making crafts and camping.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Yourkovich, Frederick (Della) Misenhelder, Gary (Marta) Misenhelder, David Misenhelder, Mary (Michael) Jones, Lori (Terry) Ackerman, and Doug Misenhelder; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 1great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Francis Misenhelder; 2nd husband, Edward Watkins; an infant son, Leslie Misenhelder; one brother and five sisters.

Friends may call Tuesday from 11 am to 1 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 1 pm in the funeral home with Reverend Rod Kasler officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
