Dorothy I. (Davies) Smith, 91, formerly of N. 8th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. She was born Dec. 21, 1919 in Martins Ferry, the only child of the late David and Carrie (Ferguson) Davies. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Van L. Smith. Surviving are her daughter Linda L. Jackson and three grandchildren Jeffery Jackson and Jill Jackson both of Martins Ferry and Jennifer Jackson of Mt. Pleasant, OH. Friends will be received Sunday 12-3 pm and 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 306 Locust St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
