Dorothy R. (Henry) Geis, 87, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Home, Westerville, OH. She was born Oct. 22, 1925 in Bellaire, OH a daughter of the late William P. and Rose L. (Kinney) Henry. She was Owner & Operator of the former R & D Jewelry of Martins Ferry. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry. Dorothy was an avid golfer winning and placing in many local tournaments. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Russell H. Geis, Sr., a granddaughter Tammy Geis, and a brother William Henry. Surviving are her daughter, Cindy (Dave) Link of Sunbury, OH, a son, Russell H. "Rusty" (Pat) Geis, Jr. of NY, a sister, Helen E. Barnes of Obitz, OH, grandchildren; David, Nikki and Jessica Link, Laurie, Julie and Kim and great grandchildren; Taylor, Jackson, Marc, Emily, Nathan, Angelo, Elijah and Zach. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Entombment follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Elders of the church will hold bereavement services Friday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
