DOROTHY L. WHITSELL

Dorothy L. Whitsell, 103, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away at Astoria of Barnesville on Sunday, May 17, 2020. She was born to the late Fred and Birdie Ramsey Leach on April 14, 1917 in Barnesville, Ohio.

Living a long and remarkable life, Dorothy celebrated her 103rd birthday this April. During her life, she experienced many firsts throughout her lifetime and has been an inspiration to her family, sharing many changes that have taken place. She believed that love of family was the most important role in life and that each day is a gift. Dorothy enjoyed flowers and the happiness they brought to people's lives and the joy given with their vibrant colors. She enjoyed Bingo.

Her loving memory will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind; Mona and Dave Merritt, Paul and Sandy Leach, JoAnn and Bill Schwall, Lori and Greg Biedenbach, and Betty Leach; and her special caregiver, Crystal Drake, whose love warmed Dorothy's days.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Russell Whitsell; brothers, Earl, Everett, and Harry Leach; sister, Marjorie Buchanan; sisters-in-law, Leona Leach and Martha Leach; and brother-in-law, William Buchanan.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 11:00 am until the time of service, beginning at 1:00 pm, Patron Funeral Homes & Cemetery Kelly Kemp Braido, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville. Pastor Bob Merritt will officiate, with special music sung by Pastor Jeff Burns and his wife, Cyndi. Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville.
