Dorothy Thurnes, 92, of St. Clairsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 25 at Stone Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care in Alliance, OH. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Richard, and her sons, Troy and Dean. A daughter of the late Leonard and Virginia Lewandoski, Dorothy was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Wheeling. She was a long- time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, where she was involved in several social clubs and activities.

Dorothy is retired from Belmont County National Bank, where she worked as the receptionist for many years. Her love for her family was matched only by her love of shopping, sweets, and a good cup of coffee. Her sense of style and sassy sense of humor made her a joy to be around. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Stone Creek as well as Traditions Health Hospice Care for their loving and compassionate care throughout her stay.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters Leslie Gloin of St. Augustine FL and Kerry Formick (Scott) of Rootstown, OH, granddaughter Alexandra Quellhorst (Nathan) of Columbia, MD, and grandsons Dylan Gloin (Amy) of St. Augustine, Connor Formick of Cleveland and Garrett Formick of Akron, OH, and great-grandsons Lincoln Gloin and Anders Quellhorst, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at Wilson's Funeral Home 920 National Rd. Brookside, OH on Tuesday August 31 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.   Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 6:30 pm with Father John Mucha officiating.
